Hello,
I'm James! Thanks for visiting this site! These pages contain an
in-depth look at a big passion of mine - creating exciting
Halloween displays for the people in my village! I call these
the
Halloween Experience!
Since first starting out in 2004, I have made fourteen shows for
Halloween night. What began as a simple display has
gradually grown into an enclosed and immersive walkthrough experience,
featuring lighting and visual effects, animated figures and
props, sounds and special effects. Each year visitor numbers
have increased, with over 600 people coming to see 'Dr Jekyll's Laboratory' in 2018,
and 'The Séance' in 2019!
Almost everything you see in the photos and videos here, I have
designed and built myself, including moving figures, props and
set pieces, visual tricks and illusions. I have also constructed
and programmed pneumatic and electronic systems to move and
control these effects.
The Behind the Scares section contains over 150 photos
and diagrams and offers a detailed look at the designs and
workings of many of the shows that I have built for Halloween so
far.
